Location- Ethiopia is a country with 1,127,127
square km and situated in the Horn of Africa. 1,119,683 sq km is
land and 7,444 sq km is water. Its size is slightly less than twice
the size of Texas. Ethiopia has Djibouti 349 km, Eritrea 912 km,
Kenya 861 km, Somalia 1,600 km and Sudan 1,606 km as border
countries. Population- The estimated
population in Ethiopia is 73,053,286.The growth rate in Ethiopia is
2.36%.The birth rate and death rate is also 38.61 and 15.06
respectively.

Economy- Ethiopia's economy
is based on agriculture. 60% of exports,
and 80% of total employment. Coffee is critical to the Ethiopian
economy with exports of some $156 million in 2002. Some of
agricultural products are cereals, pulses, coffee, oilseed,
sugarcane, potatoes, qat; hides, cattle, sheep, goats. food
processing, beverages, textiles, chemicals, metals processing and
cement are some of the industries in
Ethiopia. Climate- According to
elevation the climate of Ethiopia varies. There are irregular small
rains from April to May and the rainy season runs from June to

in the GMT +3 hours time zone. Ethiopia follows the Julian calendar.
